Dell to intro 30" LCD monitor?
by Geoff Gasior — 12:46 AM on December 5, 2005

Dell is apparently readying a 30" LCD monitor with over four million pixels. The 3007WFP will support resolutions up to 2560x1600, and boast a 14ms response time, 400cd/m2 brightness level, and 700:1 contrast ratio. The screen will also support HDCP, a feature that may be required to play back high definition DVD content on a PC.

There's no word on how much the 3007WFP will cost, but it will supposedly be announced on December 21. The screen should compete with Apple's 30" Cinema display, which shares the same maximum resolution, and sells for $2499. Apple's 30" display only has a 16ms response time, 250cd/m2 brightness level, and 400:1 contrast ratio, though.
