Excellent podcast as usual. however I have a question. In the podcast it was said that nVidia's Ion platform cannot playback 1080i HD content, yet can play back 1080p. How is that so? I thought 1080p was way more demanding than 1080i, since 1080i is just a up scaled resolution.
It would seem that the strain of 1080 lines would be more difficult to process than 540 lines in 1080i mode. Is there some type of acceleration engine or something that is optimized for that resolution? How well does the ion platform process 720p
