when are some pcie peripherals other than vid cards going to be released? I just did a search for "pci express" at newegg and turned up only motherboards and video cards.

good reading as usual, it's a pity there aren't more PCI-E based devices in the market to bench that sucker with...

pg2, paragraph1: "Soon, though, VIA's new VT8521 will hit the market"
I think thats supposed to be VT8251

pg2, paragraph2: "Also, like the ICH6R, the VT8237 will support the AHCI standard for Serial ATA drives."
Is that also supposed to be VT8251

Nice to see the NCQ support though, that's what I've been waiting for (along with the PCI-E support)

Nearly every other port, slot, and link inside a modern computer is faster than the bus shared by a collection of 16-bit, 33MHz PCI expansion slots

I think that should be 32-bit.

SWEET. I'm holding off on the purchase of a PVR card until I get a PCIe box running.

WITH A PARSIMONIOUS 133 megabytes per second of shared bandwidth, PCI has definitely become the short bus of PC expansion standards.

That's so wrong......

Hmmm.. It sure does look like a nice entry from VIA. Especially with the new southbridge on.

I would love for youg guys to do a comparison between the PCI-e x1 slots hanging from the Northbridge and the ones hanging from the Southbridge. There is got to be some latency associated with that. Of course, all in due time when proper boards will arrive.

We promise to gang tackle the FedEx guy if we think he might be delivering our Abit AX8—every day until it arrives.

Lol. Yeah I am anxious too. I know it really isn’t a big deal right now since it doesn't help anything but this is the next leap.

Plus I want to see what sli can do. Even though I can’t afford or need it ;)
