I hope they offer one sans touch screen for us business admins... Wonder how well it will terminal. Power savings will be great, but might be offset by the periodic end user "coke spill". And if businesses are the intended market, they better offer it in "ergonomic" as well. Close to half my user base uses ergo keyboards now. An no 10-key is a deal breaker.

If priced right, this would be a boon in offices. Most PCs are underutilized there and produce heat and occupy lot of space. This would give enought oomph and save a lot of leg space.

Long live the Commodore 64!
We found a boxed one in my grandma's attic last month that had been there for years, don't know if it still works, but it probably does. I could totally see getting this for a cramped college room or a kid, or as a kitchen PC of some sort. |

I thought these things were too underpowered to handle 1080p? Or does "stream high-definition content" mean just copy files around? 720P only?

This just begs to have a long HDMI cable put under the carpet between my entertainment center and the sitting area in front of it all... or wireless HDMI

i just have to say that these kind of devices are long overdue... but what they really need now are a battery.
then get a nice docking/charging device in your office and you might find yourself with a whole new kind of smart-home.. instead of using your smartphone for these kinds of tasks, a full-sized keyboard computer would make a lot of sense I think... keep a monitor/tv in places where you need a big screen, then just take this to wherever you need some instant computing. plug it into an external display and nice sound system and enjoy an 'instant htpc' when you want the big screen, otherwise the built-in one can accomplish simple tasks like displaying a recipe in the kitchen or showing your current playlist (playing locally or through a centralized sound system).. take it with you to the garage to keep an eye on email/webcam feed of your kids.. heck, you could even replace the ever-present book or magazine for the toilet with this.. haha |

This is an instant purchase. On that note, anyone know if a VESA mounted computer that is not based on Via? I am trying to put together a unobtrusive kitchen pc

I think this would be IDEAL in the workplace.
I mean, it's nearly back to the dumb terminal, and if Citrix (or Citrix-like) folks aren't already talking to Asus about a partnership, they should be. |

It looks awfully cool but I don't know what I'd do with it either. Usually a product is created to fulfill a need but in this cause it looks to be the other way around.
