HD Tach reported a 337.5MB/s sequential read speed for the 6Gbps drive. The 3Gbps model was trailing behind at 200.5MB/s.
It looks more like 140MB/s and 80MB/s. 337.5MB/s sequential read speed sounds extremely high....like, higher than two 640GB WD's in RAID0.

Did you mean the maximum Burst speed?

"Asus shows super-HD"

Meh.
I for one am holding off for Uber-HD gaming, that's the real thing!

Where do you buy a monitor with that resolution?

Who cares? I hate to be closed minded (no I don't!)
1920x1200 is an amazing resolution for 16x10.
Throw some seriouos AA at it and AF and polygons - we don't need much more resolution, we do need more DETAIL.

I firmly believe 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 will last a very, very long time.

Until 30" screens become the norm and the PS4/XBox 3 are out, graphics is likely to only inch forward. At this rate by next christmas we'll be able to play any game at 1080p with a sub hundred dollar card. Good times for sure.

With the new generation of DirectX 11 cards coming out in 4 months, who would spend a fortune on an over the top video card?

Why does the little card on top of the acrylic case containing the card say the monitor is an Asus mk221?

We couldn't find out exact pricing, but Asus told us it's not aiming to grab too high a margin—it might even even sell this card at a loss to promote its other products—so the premium over plain GTX 295s may not be too high.

Sure. I think Cyril just fell off the turnip truck on the way to Computex.

It looks like they have 2 Mars cards running in SLI for the super-HD rig? So that's 4 GPU's, correct?

One last glory shot for the GTX295 before it's kicked to the curb like every other NV dual GPU card.
