Creative Labs and well-written drivers do not coexist. This is too big a project for Creative to do well IMO.

I'll be impressed if this ever makes into anything other than a Zen or two.

I wonder if this will make it into the PC as some sort of TV Tuner card, or if it will remain in the portable media player space.

I hope this proves once and for all that Apple is cooking something similar inouse for their future iPhone/iTablet.

ARM has gotten to a point where it caught up with low end x86 CPUs in terms of performance and it's just a matter of time before it starts getting competitive with netbooks.

Which ARM core is that using then? A Cortex A8 or the older ARM11?

Edit: oh dear, ARM9s.

This will make for an interesting comparison / fight with nVidia's Tegra. And eventually Intel's Moorestown and whatever AMD tries to put into this space.

There's going to be a lot of pasta thrown against OEM walls, I wonder what will stick.

Presumably the ZiiLABS and ZMS-05 names arose after they scrapped earlier plans to name this the ZiiLOG Zii80.

The press release doesn't give a lot of details. Anyone got an idea as to how much power this consumes?

Also, this sounds like it would work well as a media extender if it could be coaxed to do 1080p (maybe require two of them?).
