so they succeed in not making a bad internal FS.
this is no advancement but the removeal of a mistake.
it's like: "we are extremly great because we got it right now."
"localize data" that again is smart. To bad it will not show in benchmarks.

I don't know how good that content localization is really. Maybe I'm stuck in my hard disk way of thinking. Wouldn't we want content to be as spread out as possible to minimize the possibility of data loss?

NTFS is a little old now...
I have always said we need a new file system.

Maybe Apple will jump on board. I'm particularly hoping they will offically, transparently adopt ZFS in the desktop version of OS10.6.

This must be an upgraded and rebranded version of TrueFFS, which SanDisk got with the acquisition of M-Systems in 2006. Looks like they are exposing more of the internals to the operating system, at last.

I really hope they release the filesystem spec in an opensource-compatible way.

I didn't know SanDisk was this competent. I always thought they were like Lexar or something, simply making crappy little storage things for media devices.

Could someone enlighten me with a brief list of companies that actually make the chips?

Are there any public slides/videos about WinHEC 2008 on the internet?
