If nVidia would go ahead and discontinue everything using the 6xxx/7xxx/8xxx/9xxx naming convention while rebranding G92/G94/G96 as GTX150/130/120, they could actually reduce confusion. So there's no way it will happen.

So how long is Nvidia going to get away with this before people stop buying it? They think that they can keep riding the sales of new naming schemes and I for one am sick of it.

This is not news. Nvidia and ATI have been pulling the same relabeling old designs as newer brand names for years.
The market that these products are targeted towards do not care. |

I wish they change GTX260 Core 216 to GTX265 or GTX270
rather change GeForce 9 series to GTX |

Admittedly, back when I thought they'd revamp their naming schemes, I thought every card will be GTX and only numbers will differ. Similarly to AMD's "HD + number" scheme.
Guess I was wrong. I'm lucky this doesn't affect me as I still know what I'll be buying. |

Only eight more generations of cards that puts them back into the 9XXX series, 'eh? Two refreshes a year (approx) and that's about four years they can keep up that naming.
Oh wait, they'll throw in the 120 GTX, or 160 GTR, etc etc etc. |

I wonder if anyone will be selling GT 1xx stickers? That way I can just take off the 8800GTS 512 stickers on mine and tell people I have a new card.

So . . .
The GeForce GTS 150 is a die-shrunk GeForce 9800 GTX+ is a faster GeForce 9800 GTX is a faster 8800 GTS 512? A GeForce GT(S) 1xx something or other is a die-shrunk GeForce 9800 GT is just a GeForce 8800 GT with HybridPower? The GeForce 9600 GSO is a renamed GeForce 8800 GS? The GeForce GT 130 is a die-shrunk GeForce 9600 GT? The GeForce GT 120 is a die-shrunk GeForce 9500 GT? THANKS NVIDIA! |

I wish I had waited for the 9600GT to transmogrify into a next-gen GT 130 before buying it. Now I'm stuck with inferior last-gen garbage.
Unless I can somehow get my hands on some white-out and a pen... |

Awesome, third rename generation for the G92 and G96 even though this one is a dieshrink that doesn't make it not a rename. Is that a record yet? If not will NV rename them again and set the record? Drama!
