"anyone who bought a graphics card directly from Nvidia or ATI’s website in the US between 4 December 2002 and 7 November 2007.
So who bought cards "directly from" NVIDIA's website? |

Also I remember that after the X1000 series came out, the X850 Pro dropped to around $149.00 retail. The ATI website started unloading them for $119.00 plus shipping. I missed the deals every time because they sold out real fast. I ended up getting a $149.00 retail one instead!

Yes, I remember those X850 Pro deals back then. You could get an X850 Pro and flash it to the X850 XT PE, Slap on an ATI Silencer 5.2 and you could sail through Halflife2.

Since Nvidia doesn't have any "Nvidia" branded cards, how can a customer buy an "Nvidia" card directly from their website if they don't exist? I'm thinking Nvidia is laughing at the class members.
That being said, I think this whole thing is silly. Can you imagine the gull these firms have in trying to recuperate their R&D costs? The nerve... |

Yes, can we please have some names of people who bought "directly" from their sites (probably means more expensive), so we can point and laugh at them?

Does anybody ever buy anything directly from the Nvidia or AMD/ATI websites? Odds are you can get it cheaper at other webshops, ie Newegg and such.

Video cards are getting crazy cheap and the prices keep falling. I remember when a low-end 3d card costed ~$400 and a high-end was around $700. Now you can get a high-end for ~$250. I mean really, we're paying for the PCB now, how much are they profiting from the chips?
