I bought a MacBook for the convenience of carrying it around the house, but it spends months at a time connected to my 24" monitor because the screen is so horrible. Its screen completely killed the purpose. So yeah, they Apple should definitely work on the screen.

I have a problem with "Apple makes computers". I thought they just charged a permium for off the shelf equipment now a days...

The new lineup could also include a "MacBook touch" with a 13.3", glass-covered touch screen.
I swear. If it doesn't have a keyboard attached to it, I'm going to scream. |

It's been 2 years since the Macbooks / Macbook Pros have not been updated. All the Apple laptops are due for an update and just like most mac users out there, i hope Apple will ditch the integrated Intel graphics from their Macbooks / Air.

Apple is the only company to refresh their lineup after the college buying period. During the college buying period they make larger profit margins on older hardware by selling them at the same or higher price than a competitor laptop. Or they can offset their large profits from a macbook by giving away free ipods with purchases. This not only causes them to get rid of some ipod stock before their ipod refresh, but it also allows them to encourage consumers to buy into their business model and buy DRM music from ituns where they will then be forced to buy ipods for the rest of their lives.
HOW LONG WILL THIS GO ON? =D |

What worries me is that you all know how to build computers/assemble your own laptops if you had the casing made already, so why pay more for just an operating system? i.e. If you like using Mac OS X then why would you buy anything more than just the base macbook? (you people have a lot of money to burn)

Hope we get a lower price of entry. I know, macs aren't made to be cheap, and the high price of entry is normal for macs, but I'd love a $900 macbook. It'd be a much more appealing notebook for me other than an hp or dell.

Hmm, GeForce 8300 mobile parts might actually make the Macbook worth considering, to an extent. Probably be plenty for The Sims 3 when it ships in February (because in December I'm considering a Macbook for my wife, who wants a laptop and wants to play the sims)
Plus, the Hackintosh community would love Apple-supported SATA drivers for nV mobos. |
