Hmm, so Intel basically can't do integrated graphics off of the CPU once the memory controller has been relocated to the CPU in Nehalem? So they have to create a Nehalem with a graphics core on the CPU to create a mobile platform offering...

Wow...and I was considering whether or not to wait for nehalem-type laptops for my first (personal) laptop purchase.
Any thoughts, gerbil trust? I've had a serious jonesing for the m1330 (appeals to my thin, light[er], LED backlet, dedicated graphics craving). I'm still a desktop user, so this would be travel/secondary...but bringing my work laptop home has showed me how useful that secondary can be. :) *sigh* I guess I'm falling into the old "where on the curve" trap again. But being this is secondary I don't have a "need to buy it now" moment to help with the decision. I'm also looking at longer times between purchases since "upgrades" will probably go to the desktop first. |

In October last year, PC Watch and HKEPC's roadmaps suggested that Clarksfield and Auburndale would arrive in Q2 2009, but by (I think) April June they'd slipped to Q3 2009. This isn't really news. ;)

Heck, I'm still doing more than good with the Turion 64 ML-34 processor on my laptop. If I have a need for lots of CPU (and GPU) power, I'll have it with a tower computer.
