By that time, AMD/ATi might be rolling out their Super 4870s & 4870 X2s or they might do a die shrink of their own to match the 45nm of the new Phenoms.

Shrinking the G200 can not come too soon, but a G96b? what is the point of that? Better laptop graphics?

I'm not sure the move to 55nm will help nVidia much. New processes have a lower yield, so despite the shrink, for a while the number of dice per wafer will probably drop. And it seems like the process is also not very good, as the power figures for 9800GTX vs GTX+ seem very similar at similar clocks (though I have never seen a power comparison at the same clock rate). I don't know that 55nm cores can clock any higher than 65nm ones, either...

But if anyone has a link to a review addressing those two specific points, I'd like read it.

Nvidia sure is making me gun shy, if they aren't drastically slashing prices they are obsoleteing their latest and greatest in very short periods of time.

Good for the masses, still, I kind of like hardware I buy to be worth something at least a few months later.

Hardware too expensive, I whine, hardware too cheap too fast, I whine, hardware coming out too soon, I whine. Clearly Nvidia needs to announce they will be giving away video cards as they come out.
