I'm suspicious that their direct link is to the release candidate, not the final release. The file is named windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe
kb936929 is "Release notes for the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate" |

I'm actually considering purchasing a new copy of Windows XP for an additional machine I'm cobbling together (part new, part old) -- anyone know if XP SP3 will actually make it to CD or DVD available for purchase? I've started watching newegg for it but don't know if it'll ever show up...

Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release to Web (RTW) Delayed:
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3262170&Si... If I read this correctly, then systems without Dynamics RMS will still get SP3 via WU. |

Is anything wrong with WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe that came out the other day?
I don't feel like downloading another 300 megs. |
