When I click properties in my computer it displays Service Pack 3, v.3311
which I downloaded last week. I wonder if there is a difference between those who downloaded at windows site.

I'm suspicious that their direct link is to the release candidate, not the final release. The file is named windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe
kb936929 is "Release notes for the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate"

I'm actually considering purchasing a new copy of Windows XP for an additional machine I'm cobbling together (part new, part old) -- anyone know if XP SP3 will actually make it to CD or DVD available for purchase? I've started watching newegg for it but don't know if it'll ever show up...
