If they would make a 3+GHz 75W 64 X2 for the 939 socket then I would buy one to upgrade my system for another couple of years. The move to AM2 sure put a lot of people off upgrading to another AMD CPU. My next CPU will probably be Intel.

#16, Um, they could manufacture some 939 CPUs for people who HAVE all the DDR they need (don't need any more thank you) and don't feel like selling their systems for 10 cents on the dollar.

#17, Yes we should all upgrade every 2 years and keep those landfills in business, not to mention all the wasted time re-building a computer and re-installing all the software. Spend I say, spend...

#18, 939 CPUs still sell privately for well over $100 a piece. That is profit AMD could be making from existing customers not to mention keeping those customers happy. I'm sure they've had lots of available capacity since then right?

price difference for 200MHz is a bit weird. Only 10$ not many 4050s will be sold I think...

I'd love for them to revise some higher end Athlon X2's. Bring the 6400 down to 65nm and bring down its thermal envelope and I'd be such a happy camper. Or any of the 5x00 chips to be honest.

How do these differ from the existing BE-2350 and BE-2400 (besides a few bucks cheaper)?

Maingear.com even has the 4850e at 45W going into an HTPC. It was said that the 44 and 40 would go retail while the 48 would start as OEM.
