hm. so the asian 800 stream processor estimate turned out wrong. it would have been interesting, though.

in any case, HD4870 breaking 1 TFLOP with a single chip? yay! and thank goodness for the doubled TMUs.

The Wii game engine by High Voltage looks promising. While I wouldn't quite call the effects comparable to the X360 or PS3, they are a significant leap ahead of the oft vertex lighting alone model used in far too many games, still. Interestingly, its non-graphical capabilities make it feel like Unreal Engine 3, including dynamic loading which would help a lot of third-party games act more like Nintendo developed titles.

[OC]ModShop seems not to understand digital TV != High Definition

Now the government has said everything/everyone will go from SD to HD in less than three years and that finish line is next February.

I expect my 75 year old mother to be confused by this. Not a supposed "tech" website (even one, judging from the quality of the writing, run by 12 year olds).

You've gotta love it when news articles on the web start quoting web forum users. As valid the comments that people make are, I just can't take them seriously when they're named after a character from 24 or put "666" after their name.
