Just out of interest I searched Web of Science for any mentions of Folding at Home or F@H, to see what sort of output this huge amount of activity (and expenditure, power consumption, CO2 production etc) has produced.

1 journal article (PNAS, really good journal) in 2005
5 American Chemical Society meeting abstracts from 2003-2005

I didn't count articles that described the F@H process or refinements of it and I repeated the search on Pubmed, which brought up the same article as above.

There's a good chance that I may have missed papers either by using the wrong search term (I did try Proteins at Home, but that pulled up everything containing the work protein, which is >5000 :)) or looking in the wrong places, but even so 1 paper?

I like the idea, but anything that produces 1 paper in the 5 or more years that it's been in existance (I think it's around 5yrs), is pretty useless. Obviously, there may be papers in press or about to come out, but the fact that I can't even find papers arising from those meeting abstracts is very surprising. If I produced 1 paper in 5 years I'd be working in MacDonalds, not as a research fellow!

Just installed and Folding now.
Start CPU client first then GPU client
otherwise it will said like only 1 client is allowed
(Thanks wingless for the tip)

Also no GUI display yet, only systray icon.

My HD 2600XT :
GPU activity is 99%
GPU temp is 70 Celsius
But hey, it's fast.
I hope the next ATI CCC version should have a monitor for Folding.

** edited for running both CPU & GPU client tip.

I'm surprised they didn't build in nVidia support with this, or at least a companion version based upon CUDA.

I just downloaded it have it running. I haven't been folding for a while (when I moved to Vista, I couldn't get the SMP client to work) but this GPU client is now running fine. Well, I hope my 3850 does well at this.
