I was *this* close to ordering a 4G this week, but in the end the prospect of a significantly more usable 9 incher, at a small premium and about the same size, convinced me to postpone.

For me, ~1024x768 is the lowest possible resolution for comfortable web browsing and general-purpose use. Once the ultra-portables have that, I'll be all over them like a bear over honeycombs. :-)

If one of the new ACER models comes with a built-in GPS device and an 8-hour battery life that will hook me. I won't have to wait too long in fact WWW.SPACEDAILY.COM is reporting that 'A new study from ABI Research forecasts GPS IC shipments to reach one billion annually in 2013.'

I'm glad to hear that they finally have a more usable screen size coming for this notebook "class". Makes it much more tempting.

Feh...too late for me, I gave in to temptation this weekend and ordered the 4G Surf (from Amazon...it was the same price there or Newegg, but Amazon offered free shipping).

I figure having this might save a good bit of wear and tear on my laptop, since I usually only need to carry a light-weight Internet/office machine with me on weekends while the laptop gets used periodically for business.
