I didn't want to put down the cash for a iPhone either; we're not used to that sort of pricing in the UK market. I got a blackberry curve instead; I really like it. Came from a treo before that, and I just cant stand Windows Mobile.
As for the Viewty, a friend of mine has it, and really can't stand it. I've used it as well, and wanted to end myself to be perfectly honest. |

Been using Pocket PC phones for over 5 years now, so I can barely remember what it's like to dial a number on a keypad... Been loving it for sure, they keep getting smaller and smaller too (my latest phone is an HTC Touch)

Thanks for the review. I am somewhat tired (bored?) with my iPhone. I would love to go back to a windows mobile based phone. But I can not find one with a bigger screen or at least the same size. I have been using pocket pc phones for sometime and had my last one pretty tricked out with software options. With the iPhone sdk out that gives me hope that the iPhone will end up doing everything I want sometime. The user community has picked up a lot of the slack for apple because I think the iPhone is crap out of the box. But if the application store or the user community (which I have a lot more faith in) don't fix the iPhone shortcommings I will probably have a new phone by the end of the year.

Your €40 phone appears to cost ~$500: http://www.google.com/products?q=viewty+unlocked
I hadn't realized the dollar had fallen so far :( |

Incidentally, the E65 is quite different to the 6280 - the 6280 is a standard Nokia Series 40 feature phone, whereas the E65 is a Symbian S60 smart phone. The general interface is pretty similar though, and they both run Java programs - it's just that S60 is a significantly more advanced platform and runs C++ programs as well.
Glad you like your new phone though, just wanted to say :) |

Does the screen have a severe blue tint in real life, or is that just in the pic?

I guess I'm still stuck in the old school, but I can't seriously use a "phone" without a proper keypad. :-?

Hm, well dang. That's a really cool, near-affordable product. Well I'm a macbook user, so I'm a bit worried about compatibility. Maybe someday the iPhone will be affordable/available for my celluar provider (verizion).
But if this thing functioned seemlessly on OS X I'd probably go for this instead. BTW, the Razr sucks. Only thing it's good for is the "conformity" factor. |

So your pricing is totally wrong.
Never it will cost you 49Eur. You'll pay this 400 anyway during 2 years of contract.
You just delude ppl with your article. Honestly your price is bullshit.Or change it name to the:
"49Eur (actually 79) with 2 year contract for 32 Eur/month iPhone."
Btw i am not iphone fanboi, i just hate misleading articles.
P.S: With 2 year contract this phone in Sweden costs 10Eur. Haha. Same will be with iphone when it comes out.
