I for one wont be trying the beta. First off I am an Opera users so IE has very little to offer. Second I got excited and tried the IE7 beat which then proceded to totally screw my system up. When the final version comes out I might give it a try but not until that happens.

hopefully it wont be using activex...yeah right, LOL! Its the main reason I went with firefox. FF with Adblock plus makes even the worst website like yahoo and msn look good. Hopefully, widescreen support will show up more and more websites. Thanks for the <----> feature, TR!

"which should bring [..] user interface improvements"
Well I hope they're not the same kind of UI "improvements" we've seen in IE7..
Never understood what the heck they tried to do with IE7's interface really.

What is very surprising and deeply sad is that many websites still don't work right with Firefox. It's like they're stuck in 2003-2005.

The theory to IE's faster loading and smaller memory footprint is that it's always running and that it's tightly integrated with the OS.

IE7 was pretty bad....I can only imagine how bad IE8 will be.

Meh. We've still got some users on IE6 because of broken websites, and we just got the last custom app updated to work with 7.

I think it'll be available for XP SP3, possibly SP2.

It is funny when people talk about tabbed browsing being the new cool thing. Opera has had that feature for YEARS

I have been using IE since version 3, that version came out in 1992

I *wish* I could get rid of it.

I am using Opera and Firefox. IE too rarely. Firefox 3 Beta has been in my system for about a month already. I can say it is alot better than IE7 and faster too. But comparing to Firefox and Opera I think Opera loads the browser faster (not the website), the website opens similar to both except on lousy IE and very virus attractive browser.
