I hate Nvidia for the drivers optimization of the lats cards , and the old ones are left for dead.
Why the radeon 3870 is beat by 8800gt and 9600 ?
Remember the 3870 has 320 stream , GDDR 4 , vs 112 (64) ,GDDR3.
Simply put drivers, drivers, drivers.
Nvidia have the engineers , capable of gating 40frs difference with a single card based on the same core G92 or G94.:(

Have to point out what others do in the F1 post comments, the 750GB probably uses 250GB platters and so performance would be less astounding than the 1TB.

How much cheaper would a 256MB version of the 9600GT be? Or even a 128MB version (although it seems nobody even bothers with that little memory on anything but low-end models these days)? I don't really have much need for lots of video memory but on my main PC I don't want the lower-end models with low memory bandwidth and speeds (256MB 7600GT is serving well enough, just asking for informational purposes for the future.)

NEED A TR REVIEW! With the usual nitty-gritty detail on the GPU architecture. I understand the argument about the G92 not being shader-bound but I still don't see how this GPU performs so closely to the 8800GT when it has only 64 SPs.

With only half of the stream processors has nvidia doubled the performance of the rest of the "GUTS" of this card in order to get it so close to the 8800 GT????

Do you think that the 9800 GT which presumably will have at least 112 Stream processors have almost double the 9600 GT's performance or is this hoping for too much (Maybe better to compare to the GTS with 128 Stream Processors).

Some forum members are criticizing this for not being a true next gen card but with 64 Stream Processors providing about 95% of the performance of a 112 Stream Processor Card it seems like a good next gen part to me!

Now all I need is new drivers for my 8800, to receive the boost on my G92 chip which they've already given to the new G94 with ForceWare 174.
