Been thinking on this one all weekend and I don't see how buying yahoo gets MS anywhere near Google for the long-term. MS needs to buy Google to do that. Yahoo is a stagnant, dull company and flat. Google is continuing to grow. Perhaps MS should team with that Chinese search engine?

Honestly I dont give a rats ass about either company. I use MS Office 2008 on my Mac when I HAVE too for document compatibility, and only when I have to, otherwise I use iWork.
I have a XP and Vista in a VMware Fusion VM that I fire up on occasion,to help my distant family members that still use Windows, luckily only one has Vista and is probably going back XP or over to OS X. I go weeks with out firing those VM's up. Hopefully I can just delete the Vista VM. I dont use anything from Yahoo. I hope it goes through, just for the fact that I think it will distract MS, and help the open source community gain more ground. |

This is some funny stuff....
http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/2008/02/ballmer-im-completely-out-of-... " Imagine a circus act in which two enormous, clumsy, awkward elephants that don't really like each other are supposed to mate while riding on skateboards. Now imagine that it is your job, you lucky bastard, to be one of the little circus clowns standing alongside trying to make this extremely unnatural and unholy act take place. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of people will have their lives completely ruined and flipped upside down for the next two years because of this deal. They'll see even less of their kids. And those ski weekends? Forget about it. Ain't gonna happen. Meanwhile Google will keep pulling away" |
