Thought I'd chime in with some actual results (rather than bickering about how good or bad the game is). My rig is running an e6600 OCed to 3.36, 2gb of mushkin dd2 800, an evga 8800gtx OCed to 621/2000 all running on an MSI P6N SLI mobo. I'm running the game at 1440 x 900. Prior to installing the patch I was able to run the game smoothly at very high settings except for post processing which was set to medium and anti aliasing was turned off. It would lock up occasionally at these settings and I'd have to reboot (especially if I looked at the water). Since installing the patch I've been able to turn post processing all the way up and set anti aliasing to 4x and still get a playable frame rate. I've tried it at 16x but it gets a little choppy (nothing like before tho). I've played it about 2 hours without a single lockup or glitch. A weird detail is I can no longer get an accurate frame rate display from the game. In the game my frames change between 15 and 20 fps every 5 seconds. It doesn't matter what I'm doing (standing still and staring at the ground for instance) or how it's set, it just keeps going back and forth between 15 and 20. The GPU benchmark stops at 21.7fps and never changes. Other than these problems it's running smoothly. Hope this helps.

Running the Crysis provided GPU benchmark I got around a 5 FPS increase in DX9. Sweet!

They should patch the demo, so those of us on the fence can see if it runs acceptably now.
I had a lot of fun with the demo and would have picked up the retail version, but I'm just not going to spend $50 on a game that runs like that. I realize that, with a 2.7GHz C2D, 4GB of RAM and a 512MB 7950GT, I can't expect to play it at 1920x1200 and high quality settings, but having to drop it to 1280x800 and medium detail, well, that hurts. UT3 looks pretty, too, and that didn't kill my system. Neither did the Orange Box, or Universe at War. So if there's as much fun to be had in the retail version as there was in the demo, I won't know until almost all of the games I want to play make me upgrade. |

As someone who doesn't care for AA and AF I've already managed to finish it under all high settings and it was quite smooth :) - 8800GT

my friend just installed the patch, and he said that now he can play DX10 with settings on very high very good. he has q6600 oced and a 8800 gtx. if that tells you anything.
by the way on all you haters, the game is really fun, you just have to jump into it. |

I wonder if they adjusted blast damage for the single player game. You can take out those LPG tanks with a group of NKs around them and when it blows, nothing happens to them.
