took them long enough, i see its pointless as they might actually introduce another mobile graphics based on the 9 series...i know it might be too fast but who knows, currently nvidia is doing crazy things, revamping here and there and everywhere
one thing they're not doing is curing the shortage of 8800GT's...i've already decided on getting one and whadaya know...they're all out! |

Surely these will only be useful for "desktop replacement" systems that are lugged from one outlet to another. The idle power consumption of Nvidia's cards has not been getting any better. Witness the review of the new 3850 and 3870 Radeons, which completely demolish the 8800GT in idle power consumption.
Does the Nvidia "PowerMizer" that they deploy only on mobile chips have the magic mojo of Powerplay, or are they relying on lower clocks and cherry-picked LV chips to pull this off? I've always admired Nvidia's engineering prowess, but i'm getting increasingly irritated at their failure to rein in desktop power consumption. |
