Hang on. They can't even take advantage of a 1333MHz bus.

I was going to wait for a 45nm cpu but the multipliers are too low, I don't have 9000$ memory so screw it.

This Penryn based part has a native clock speed of 3.2GHz and a bus speed of 1,600MHz and the one on display was overclocked using a cascade cooler which keept it between -85 to -100 degrees Celcius so it could be overclocked to 5.4GHz, although it had aparently hit 5.6GHz a day earlier. Thats their spelling. ;-)
AMD needs to get a clue and release sneak previews of their top binned CPU's long before they will ever be in the pipeline. Liquid nitrogen is cheap. Surely they have one or two out of the whole lot that can claim a performance crown? |

Can I snap one of this into my S939 machine? Don't want to buy RAM and change the motherboard.

Too bad they are just so expensive :( but then again i suppose if you got a good motherboard you could hold onto the thing for at least 3 years.
