Im looking to upgrade my computer but I can't deiced what processor and graphics card to get. Im between.

Processors:
Intel Core Duo (3.0 G Hz)
or
Intel Core Duo Extreme (2.93 G Hz)

Graphic Card:
Dual 768MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra
or
Dual 768MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX,
or
single of the above two.

Is it worth spending the extra cash on the Extreme and Dual GPU's ? Any other suggestion? Any help would be great

Heyas,

Looking forward to trying out Crysis :) Just wondering tho, would my Pentium 4 2.8GHz (Dual Core) suit the recommended requirements for this game? I know there's no probs with minimum requirements :)

Otherwise here's my specs, keep in mind my motherboard doesn't have PCI-Express slots :

Operating System - Windows Vista Ultimate x64 bit Edition
Processor - Pentium 4 2.8GHz (Dual Core)
Memory - 2GB of DDR2 RAM
Video Card - 512MB DDR2 ATI Radeon x1650 Pro 8xAGP
Hard Drive - 600GB (total)
Sound Card -Creative Audigy 4

I can run Medal of Honour Airborne and Unreal Tournament 3 with no probs :) What's COD 4 like for you guys?

So what does this mean?

Crysis will run like dog even on a 8800gts.

Look at those bloated Vista requirements. Somebody explain to me again why I want to upgrade to that.

Steep? 2.8Ghz and a 9800 Pro? Very nice considering how so many new games require shader model 3.0 video card. Many of these are supposed to be main stream games, like Spiderman 3.

more interesting is this bit from incrysis.com:

"Crysis takes advantage of 64-bit processors although only by using a 64-bit operating system such as Windows XP Pro 64-bit edition or Windows Vista 64-bit edition. According to Cevat Yerli, Crysis will have a 10-15% performance increase per thread running in 64-bit. Thus a dual core processor will run 20-30% faster than a single and a quad will run 40-60% faster than a single."

expect to see some crowded graphs in the near future =P.

Meh, I'm saving money these days. I'm down for Win2K and DX9.0b support.

Can't buy XP because it's old and Vista is expensive. $200 plus a $50 game? that's two fifty. No way.

Wow I'm actually placed exactly on the Recommended. I know tough that when you sit exactly there it means that you ain't running it in the higuest settings unless you don't care about slowdown during the middle of the action.

Well I played the beta Multiplayer, and yeah at medium settings and 1024X768, things were not what I consider good. The textures took forever to load up even after being in the game a few minutes some parts would only load textures as I got close to them. When I shot the pistol there was a black square shadow on the muzzle flash.

My specs:

WinXP SP2
AMD X2 3800+
2gigs Ram
7900GT 256MB

I'm not sure if this is representative of the single player at all but that's my 2 cents.

haha wow i am right in that minimum almost (cept for my ram and sound).

3.2GHz P4C
X-Fi Xtreme Music
256MB X800XL (AGP Obviously)
3GB DDR400

So This should be interesting (am also running a dual boot between Vista Business and XP Pro). I will definitely be making a post about how it runs on my system when the demo comes out so others who have similar setups might know how well it runs, cause i know there are still a decent number of you out there. I will also post how it runs on my laptop

Vista Home Premium
2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (4MB cache / 800MHz fsb)
3GB DDR2 667
8600M GS 256MB (dedicated memory)

Let the hurt begin!

I think they should start a new Section to the two existing
Minimum System Requirements
Recommended System Requirements

with "Supported System Hardware" and add Ageia PhysX so ppl, who own one know its supported.

They forgot to list "2 (on XP) to 4 hours (Vista) of free time a day" under System Requirements.
