So if you disable that "intelligence" in control panel does it still speed up? or are these gamespecific speedups that only work in the specific game and require that intelligent detection to use the tricks meant for that game.
Would be nice to know what is really optimized in general and what parts are just tricks, but I guess that's too much to ask from the graphicscard manufacturers. |

How do you get an 80% performance improvement in CoH? Was it that bad to start?

Battlefield 2142?
Company of Heroes? FEAR? Maybe it's time that PC gaming got some more developers making more games. I guess I should be thankful that AMD didn't improve 3Dmark performance. It's sad that I'm using my Athlon 64 X2 and Radeon 1950 GT to play WoW. The only game I got to look forward too is HL2 episode 2 which I'll beat in probably about 6 hours. Oh and lets not forget Portals which is probably even shorter. Best of all I get to play a game I've lost sleep over back in the quake days, Team Fortress. I think the industry needs a clue already. If WoW is the most popular game then maybe someone should look into why. Here's a hint it's called Co-op. A game where you play with other people in real time online. If WoW were a single player game it would suck, but it's the co-op that really makes it great. |

Would you guys be able to benchmark, just a little bit, the cards when new drivers come out. I want to see what I'm buying at the time I'm buying it, now when it launched. The 2900 XT has had huge improvements, but all I can find online is all old drivers, it'd be nice if someone did updates monthly.

Hopefully these drivers are better than the movie of the same name.

Looks ok, but I see far too many improvements for the lowend budget cards that you couldn't pay me to game on. I'm currently using a X1950Pro which has been great for me so for. However, I've been itching to try the X2900 series. Sad fact is AA still cripples this card, and the drivers won't fix this. So i'll be skipping this gen and checking out the refresh products which should fix AA hopefully. Or I'll have to buy a NV card which is something i've not done in along time.

Good for AMD/ATI. AMD really got out the whip and making ATI drivers very professional especially compared to Nividia.

AWESOME! I can't wait to see if their numbers are backed up with real world performance.
