200$ would make this the perfect sweet spot for this generation of cards.

Once again, screen resolution and processor speed has a lot to do with 3dmark scores. Would like to know the specifics.

Bone stock, not touching anything, at 1680x1050 I get ~9250 3dmarks in 06. Thats with a 6420 and an 8800GTX with 2gB DDR2-800. OC'd to 3GHz and stock GTX I get over 11,100. So processor speed plays a big role in my opinion.

An 8800GTS 320MB overclocked to 575 MHz core scores about 9,600 in 3DM2k6 at 12x10 ( http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/12458/14 ).

If a 600 MHz G92 scores ~10,000 at the same resolution, then one might suppose that it could have the same number of stream units as the current 8800GTS (96).

Of course, that's assuming they're not doing anything sneaky like reporting 1024x768 results. :p

Does anyone know the memory bandwidth of this card? I heard a rumor that nVidia trimmed it to 256-bit.

"We heard the overclocking headroom for GeForce 8800 GT is pretty impressive mainly due to the finer 65nm process technology. However, Nvidia has purposely limits the core clock at 600MHz so its performance won't get too close to the GeForce 8800 GTS thereby hurt its sales. However, users can still choose to overclock the core and we should be seeing more than 700MHz easily. However, if Radeon HD 2950PRO performance comes too close for comfort, Nvidia might increase the core clock further."

It seems that 8800GT is going to be almost as good as 8800GTS at stock speeds, but 8800GT have much higher overclocking potential than 8800GTS

Hmmm, does this new card have all the funky PureVideo HD stuff that the 8500 et al have? If so I might be tempted...if not, I'll pass. And I'd really like to see a passively cooled version - which ought to be possible if it's a single slot cooler!

Nice card.. Looks thin...

EDIT: BTW why do they don't tell us the system's specs on which this card was used.
