nexxcat: Eh? Sure you can. 32bit addressing will take you clear to 2/4GB (depending on if you get signed or unsigned integers for your pointers), and clever OS hacks will allow you to utilise far more than that. What 32bit OSs won't let you do is go beyond that in a single process, but there are many ways around that.

Uggh. Why are the myths and misunderstanding around this stuff so prevalent?

The reduction in available system memory depends on the devices that are installed in the computer. However, to avoid potential driver compatibility issues, the 32-bit versions of Windows Vista limit the total available memory to 3.12 GB. See the "More information" section for information about potential driver compatibility issues.

Dell still doesn't support or offer 64bit operating systems.

Any configured models with the dual SLI and 4GB of RAM should start prompting familiar questions:

Wow. Judging from the replies I see here, I may lambasted for this, but... I think it's pretty cool. Go Dell.

Bad Ageia. PhysX sucks.

Hmm, the Hummer of notebooks.

I know this is unfair, because this is clearly not expected to be anything more than a "transportable," but:
Weight: Starting at 10.6 lbs (4.81 kg)
Battery: 9-cell 85WHr Li-Ion

Ten pounds! I guess the battery might last just about long enough for you to get the thing shut down if there's a blackout. And what must the fans sound like when everything is cranked up during a game?

And yet... I wonder if it actually has the horsepower to give decent framerates at its native resolution?

On a side note you can sit and use this on your lap for 15 minutes and it will act as a contraceptive.

This is just silly who would really want that?

I own a 'last gen' desktop replacement laptop.
15.4" - PM 1.6 - 1gb ram and a 9600 mobile card, at the time the 8600 was a monster laptop.

After owning it for 2.5 years, I love it still but it sure as heck isn't so good for games anymore now is it.
Size and weight wise, I'd definately not want something bigger.

I'd want a laptop with a single hard disk only, raid 0 is asking for problems, specially in a laptop.
4gb ram is nice and the cpu, well I'd prefer something fast, efficient and cool, 3.2ghz on a laptop seems crazy now, maybe 12 months it'll be feasable but right now, that thing will chew power like crazy, run hot, possibly be noisy and lose value FAST - which is the worst part.
