Well the new rumor is that the R600 will be 12" long, so a new case may be needed.

With backing from ASUS and MSI we may see motherboards from them soon. All we need is DTX cases and we're in buisness!

The biggest plus about this, is that its compatible with ATX.

However, I still would like to see some reference designs and such. As I'm still curious of how it compares to Mini-ITX (VIA's SFF platform).

i hope this new standard also promotes even higher performance-per-watt in all components, especially video cards. the main purpose is to have a layout for media center/living room PCs, right?

DTX - So that's what AMD's done while Intel was working on improving their main products?

You know I wish you people would quit bitchin' like little babies. if you want to argue why don't you take it to the Forums?

This is a comments page about the DTX format. not wether BTX is better than ATX or which is more widely sold.

For ONCE I'd like to read a comments page with out AMD and Intel fanboy's in the way.

Now, I'm glad to see a new Format being Standardized.

FP!

Anyway, didn't VIA already do this with Mini-ITX, and Intel do it with Flex-ATX?

What's the point of this standard, exactly?

As long as they continue to make video cards that are "VideoLoca" long (http://cc.usu.edu/~kwjolley/VGA/VideoLoca.jpg) then people won't be able to use anything smaller than ATX+.

I think this is one of the smartest cases I've seen:

http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chassis/Server_Full_Tower/V_Series/S...

BTX-like 'idea', and ATX motherboard compatibility. Power supply on the bottom, open area for working on the board and the hard drives are cooled in a 'wind-tunnel' sort of arrangement. Brilliant.
