Any reason why your so dell oriented?
Also...both of those are 16:9 and thus not 1920x1200, I really don't wanna use another 16:9 monitor.
So scratch out both of those.

Its pricier than you mentioned but its worth it.
I have discovered that docking on the side seems more useful now that 7 does not make it that painful. I would suggest you try it. Even in 16:10 I can always still use more vertical pixels anyway.Voldenuit wrote:I do miss 16:10 in general computing - especially with Windows 7's humongous taskbar.

I'm confused: don't your existing monitors have DVI inputs? I don't think I've ever seen one that has HDMI but not DVI (unless it's actually a TV, not a monitor). Assuming you have no other problems with them, swapping in a DVI cable (or even just an HDMI-DVI converter) seems much cheaper....StuG wrote:Hey everybody. Looking at getting rid of the monitors I have that use HDMI (alot of games I have hate the HDMI),

Ah, OK.Flying Fox wrote:Those monitors that are supposed to be "multimedia oriented", like this HP for example.
Kind of amusing that this monitor doesn't have HDMI (I realize that the OP is specifically looking for a monitor with DVI input, and this has DVI with HDCP, but really the root of the problem is monitors that don't offer the full gamut of input options so you can choose whichever one is appropriate at the time, and this is just another different example of that). I was going to ask how they get away with a list price of $309, but I see it's an LED-backlit display. I look forward to the day when that's ubiquitous and there's no significant premium attached.Xibalban wrote:I definitely recommend the Dell G2410. Cnet ranks it as one of their top 5 monitors and other reviews have been more than favorable. Check it out here:

It worked for me, I just bought mine, shipped, for $211.

StuG wrote:Well I guess I should be more specific about OEM's.
I specifically mean Dell, HP, Gateway. Pretty much those three I don't want.

Opinions?

And there's a cheaper version without the tuner (or component input or the second HDMI input).Airmantharp wrote:That's actually a pretty nice unit- not much more to pay for a TV tuner, and it has component and HDMI if you ever need those for other things, StuG.

StuG wrote:Also I'm worried about that Samsung Monitor. I was doing some research and I guess it doesn't work with 4850, 4870, or 4890's. I've not seen anybody say anything about the HD5800's so I'm pretty sketch to buy one if its not going to work with my card 0.o
