Motherboard + CPU for budget for student usage

Postposted on Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:46 am

Hi Team,

My brother have give me a 2nd desktop but at the end i found out the most important part such as motherboard + CPU is out of function.

So i left out only a Mid-Tower Case , A 320 FSP PSU , 120 PATA Harddisk + Pioneer DVD-Combo, i still have stock of 1 GB of DDR 2 ram.

Before i start searching in local 2nd hand market for used motherboard + CPU , i need some advice from all of you ? Which motherboard + CPU to get.

I need some advice , my intent for that pc is for some WarCraft ,CounterStrike , Online Video Stream , surfing.

My brother can only afford around RM500 = 130USD .
:)

Hi there,

Best bet would be a cheap Athlon II X2, and a 785G mobo. should have enough juice to play WoW/CS:S. Do you have any links to malaysian stores you wish to purchase from? We can give you a better recommendation then. I'll put up some newegg links in the meantime:

CPU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103688

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128394

Bout $140 USD

HP 6930p||T9400|4GB|160GB@7200|1400*900 14.1"|All usual laptop crap||

From Startec Computer System SDN BHD (interesting store name :D)

Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H - 320RM
Athlon II X2 240 - 210RM

That would be my option.

the p35 is very old now, and you would need to buy cpu + graphics card then.
