Inline objects in flash

Postposted on Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:19 pm

I'm totally new to Flash and Flash technologies, so I wanted to ask if it's possible to inline complex objects inside Flash movies.

As far as I understand Action Script 3.0 allows some more ore less acceptable level of development, but what I want to know is if it's possible to stream in pdf/jpg/png/avi/docx and then just display it at runtime.

I know OLE helps with such things in VB/C++, but I have no idea if something like that even exists for Flash. And if something like that exists how cross platform it is.

I'm still digging through tutorials, so I don't know how far I still have to read to get the answer, maybe someone can tell if it's worth doing a further research.

Okay, so the first thing to learn about Flash is that you should use Silverlight.

The zeroth rule that you should learn about flash & silverlight, is to not use either of them. Also, the game.
