Innings by ball count? Certainly not Test cricket.

What little I know about cricket I learned in the late '70s from a wild-eyed hairy beast from Geelong who happened to be my cabin counselor at YMCA camp that year. Daft bugger wore a full parka at 35C telling us he was still chilly.

Might've found a place that has a RiscPC for a reasonable price... their osCommerce setup is messed up, though... as in, it thinks shipping to the US is $1400. For 8.02 kg.

(I sent them an e-mail, because there's a few questions I had on the machine anyway.)
QOTD: The first step in using the SUN processor is making sure it is turned on. There is probably a switch labeled "ON" and "OFF". It will work better if the power switch is in the "ON" position.

I know my tv/monitor sucks pretty bad and every so often i decide i want something else but change my mind but today i actually took the time to take a serious note of how bad it is. There's two extremely bright lines where the 1024 resolution lines up on the tv from only showing that section while watching tv and some games. To the right of the left line, there's a massive dark blob that starts small at the bottom of the screen and goes up to the top ending about 3 inches wide. Every approximately one inch, there is a dark line, some start from the top and go 3/4's down, and some do the opposite, but there are 7 visible enough for me to count now with my sunglasses on since i'm about to go outside. None of this stuff actually bothers me when playing games or such so i never care to upgrade until things happen while rendering that make me realize i need better color or higher definition.

*edit I always read my posts, and this one receives the worst grammar ever award.

Yeah, so I learned something today.

You know those peeled hard boiled eggs that they have at Holiday Inn Express for breakfast? Yeah, they're cold...so I took some up to my room to put them in the microwave.

Why didn't any tell me not to put boiled eggs in the microwave? One exploded all over the inside of the microwave. The other one didn't. I thought I was good until I stuck a fork in it. Then it exploded too. Heh.

It's not just boiled eggs, but any eggs in shells - I saw it on an episode of Food Detectives once.

But the eggs were peeled...no shells. I knew about doing it in shells, didn't know it was bad without them too. Missed the memo on that. :(

Those peels are pressure vessels none the less. I love how one exploded when you put a fork in it. That's hilarious.

I already have that exact card by your recommendation a while back. Unfortunately without media center or vista i found it to be more trouble than it's worth, the software that comes with it is very repulsive. Nice looking monitor, if i pick that up and vista i should be well off. I'll have to wait a bit before diving in though since i may be moving soon.

It wouldn't have been hilarious if I'd have bit into it instead of poking it with my fork. Hot egg everywhere. Fortunately it wasn't burning hot.

Same thing can happen if you microwave water in a glass or hard ceramic container. If the container is clean enough and the water pure enough it can superheat due to the lack of a nucleation site to start the bubbling bit of boiling. When you take it out of the microwave and agitate it, it can flash to steam and erupt out of the container.

You can do a similar thing with freezing beer. Some beer won't freeze in the freezer, take it out, give it to somebody, have them open it and it freezes before their eyes.

Yup, I've had that happen with Pyrex glass in the microwave. Now I just stick a spoon in the water after a minute or two to see if it's boiling.

I've never had that happen, but our water isn't exactly pure.

How long do you have to microwave a boiled egg to get it to explode 1) in the microwave and 2) when you pierce it?

Not long. I had two fridge cold eggs in a tiny hotel low wattage microwave. I set the timer to 1 minute on high. At about 46 seconds, egg #1 exploded. I jumped up, stopped the microwave, cleaned up most of the mess. Then stuck a fork in egg #2, which exploded less spectacularly.

Yes, all experiments that include possible explosions are to be done with pic and/or divx proof on the internets. So it has been memed, so it should be done.

I did the typical guy thing. I pressed a cold beer against it, ignored the wife saying "I told you so" (because she didn't), and went to bed like usual. I figured if it didn't kill me by the morning, I was good.

How is it, that I can have such an outrageous internet speed and still get such poor download speeds, even from sites with excellent servers I've been having ridiculously slow streaming speeds for video.
