Yet another game developer has announced that its next blockbuster will arrive this fall. This time, the developer is Ubisoft, and the game is Far Cry 2. Shacknews says the new Far Cry title is coming on October 21 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. As usual, gamers on the old continent will have to wait a few more days—until October 24, to be precise.

For the unacquainted, Far Cry 2 will take place in Africa and will feature a large, open-ended game world with a branching, mission-based storyline. Although Far Cry developer Crytek had nothing to do with this title, Far Cry 2 apparently won't skimp on the eye candy.
Far Cry 2 will arrive amid the same wave as several other major PC games, including S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (coming September 6 on Steam), Fallout 3 (coming October 28), Call of Duty: World at War (coming November 11), Grand Theft Auto IV (coming November 18), Left 4 Dead (also coming November 18), and Duke Nukem Forever (just kidding).
