Show notes
This week, we kick things off with a quick listener comment and our thoughts on the world of TV, specifically sci-fi shows. Scott isn't impressed with Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, Jordan wants to see Summer Glau in Terminator Salvation, and Scott loves the science of Fringe. We then move on to our obituary of 3D Realms, mourning the Nukemness that may never be.
Both Intel and Microsoft have been busy making new TV ads recently, and our editors go on to discuss the pros and cons of Intel's 'rock star' approach and Microsoft's fixation with desktop-replacement notebooks. Speaking of laptops, both Geoff and Scott are excited with the new and shiny (sometimes overly so) ultraportables from Samsung and HP. Can these slender new arrivals unseat our favorite netbooks for price, usability, and size?
This show includes many AMD stories, as well, including talk of the newest Radeon GPU and Scott's visit to GlobalFoundries.
Send in listener mail, and we'll answer on the podcast. - jdrake@techreport.com
